haven't posted in a while, here a few pics and a link to show my humidor progress.

the cabinet is cooled and has an accumonitor to control humidity and temp.

all the walls have 1.5" of insulation, plywood construction and zebra wood veneer that I cut.
the inside is spanish cedar.
still lots of work to do, building a face frame and doors from cherry, building 2 drawers for single cigars and shelves.
the cabinet will store about 100 boxes and maybe 500 singles, maybe more.
I'll tell ya when it's all filled up.

Sascha,
Gorgeous work on the cabinet. It is stunning. You will need it to be top notch to keep fine cigars at their best in So-Cal. May you enjoy many relaxing evenings.
By the way here are a couple of links to great cigar shops online. Service, quality, and prices have always been great at either one.
Since they are in PA the tax is drastically reduced as well.

Sascha, you are a woodworking stud! Your projects always motivate me, but it's usually just in my head:eek:! My wife would like me to actually start applying it in real life, not just the imaginary woodworking life I seem to live. I don't smoke, but a few relatives are big into cigars, so you've given me the kick in the butt that I need for a christmas present (hey, I need time:D).

Thanks for posting, you are an extremely talented woodworker and I always enjoy seeing your latest projects as well as your shop tours. Nicely done!

David

thank you David for the kind words, thank you so much.
I don't get to use my tools all that much either, but this one has been a fun project, can't wait until it's done

Sascha, that is awesome!! Just a beautiful piece.

Is this a personal project or a commission? The reason I ask is that I am intrigued at the technology that you are putting into this humidor. Where did you learn about this, and can you pass along the source you used for the supplies?

Again...beautiful work!

Thanks!

- Keith

it's a personal project, I don't do commissions, not enough time.

the electronics I got from cigarsolutions.com, it's 2 thermo electric units and what's called the accu-monitor with 4 bottles and 4 fans..

pretty amazing for humidor stuff, I did a little online research, but once I figured out how to insulate the cabinet, I did things on the fly.
