Not one of my best but I guess it'll do. Made of oak ,maple and walnut. Measures 10''x 4 1/2'' . Sealcoat and wax finish.

Mike, that is a beautiful bowl. Very well done. I especially like each of the 3 woods you used to make this bowl and the workmanship, to my eye, is spectacular. Wish I could do that Mike. Keep them coming Mike. Congratulations... Mitch

Nice design Mike! I like your choices of wood, the form and finish! Never know quite what to expect when it comes to your turnings - other than they are all top notch! Thanks for posting!

Looks good from here, Mike. Is that all side or edge grain we are seeing in the checkerboards?

All the grain is horizontal.

Mike, you have too much time. I really like the checkerboard pattern. Nice work !

All the grain is horizontal.

Incredible bowl! But now you have me scratching my head. I would have bet the checkerboards were endgrain. How, without revealing any trade secrets, did you make them with horizontal grain?

Mike,

I'm afraid I'm going to swim against the tide. After having seen other pieces you have done--which have been absolutely stunning, to my eye, perfect--I'd tend to agree with you that it's not one of your best. It's very good, but it seems to me that something of the design is just not quite right. Perhaps the feature ring is too wide.
