Here's the deal. Rockler had a 205 discount on everthing in the store
including power tools through memoriable day. When i called about using the 20% disc on the lathe they quoted the lathe price as 1599.99 which
also reflected the disc. I checked on their web site and the reg price
was 1599.99. Also that is what woodcraft is selling it for. I sent an email
to rockler head office ane got a reply stating that the store price should
have been 1599.99. They did not mention the 20% disc so i shot a reply
back and thanked them for correcting their mistake and then asked about
the store"s 20% disc. I am now waiting for their response. To be right about this deal they should have sold me the lathe for 1599.99 less 20$
disc which would be 1385 inc tax. What are your thoughts on this?

I'd FIGHT for it, if it clearly includes powertools.

In these situations I usually get my way. 99.99999% of the time.:D

I say go for it. It's not your fault , they misquoated you the price that should have been another 20%, make sure the stores busy and start getting louder each time they try to deny it.;)

sounds like they better give you the discount; its their rules....sounds like someone is trying to get out of giving you that discount.

The ad I received from them was 20% off may 23rd-26th, memorial day weekend. Powertools included. But only at select stores and does not include already discounted gear.

So, if they are one of the stores giving the discount and they hadn't discounted it down $0.10 or so (just to block the sale), then they should have given you the 20% off. Fight for it.
