I'm using acrylic car paint. Works for cars; particularly with clear laquer on top. It's a little early to tell, but I've had some black-filled marble outside for a month in ferocious UV and there's no colour-fading so far. Don't know about the colder extremes of temperature though and cracking/frost damage-type weathering.

In theory, cement/VERY fine sand/colouring or metal powder/cement waterproofing might work for extreme outdoor use. Not tried it though.

Sylvia, yesterday I laser my first piece of granite and my wife wants it color filled. When you get something that is to your liking could you post a photo. Just need to see what it should look like. Personally I am not into granite but my wife likes it, therefore I have to figure out how to work with it. Good luck in your endeavors.

Bill

I've got a non-subtle method that works quite well:
