Here's my latest table. The walnut top is a little over 5/4 thick with a beveled edge. The legs are 8/4 zebrawood. Finished with tung oil and wet sanded to 1000. Overall the table is 48" long, 15" wide and stands about 30" tall. Thanks for looking.

ZW tends to chip out like mad! Were those legs hard to make? Looks very nice.

Normally I don't have too bad a problem with zebrawood. I take really light passes with my 15" planer and then take it to a local cabinetmaker to run through the drum sander.

This piece of zebrawood was not easy. There was one visible crack in the board when I bought it. Little did I know, there was hidden cracks also. I went through about 6 or 7 legs to get 4. I can use the broken ones for other projects.

That's a great table. The Zebra makes a very nice leg. Beautiful combo and style.

Zebrawood goes nicely with walnut as evident by your table. It looks swell.

I made a small clock and a desk lamp with a zebrawood and walnut combination. Besides dealing with chipout, my nose got all stuffed up and my eyes watered like crazy.

Yes... and it smells like a wet dog when you cut it.

Very nicely done, John. That's a nice hunk of ZW in the top and the legs grain look great. Nice clean and simple design that looks great without much ado as in ornamentation. The piece itself stands alone in form and function.

Nice job...

That's a beautiful hunk of Walnut. How wide is it? Makes me want to try something besides cherry in my next hardwood project. The design is subtle and looks right.

I'm not a big fan of Zebrawood, but that slab of walnut was just screaming to be put to use in a project like this.

It's about 15" wide. The original slab I bought was 8 feet long. I used part of it for this table top and the rest for table legs on another project.
