This is from a 4/4 maple board and some scraps of mystery wood from a woodcraft grab bag box and a little 1/8" walnut. It ended up 12.5" dia by 3/4" thick. The dark line along the glued in piece is an ambrosia beetle track. Finished with danish oil and buffed. Top and bottom view.

Curt - interesting design variation on the platter theme! Beautiful curly maple, nice color contrast and finish! Nice way to use up some of that scrap wood!
