I've written a paper with the above title that's located at the Festool Owners Group web site. I thought it might be of interest to some Creekers who have a Domino.

I posted a draft of this paper at FOG last September, inviting comments and suggestions. I finally got around to revising it yesterday.

Here's what the spacers look like:

8934889349

The paper shows which spacer to use for different combinations of type of joint (butt or miter), width of material, size of domino and number of dominos to be used (one or two).

To locate the paper (I can't post a link here), go to the festoolownersgroup site (it's a .com), click on "GALLERY", scroll down to "ENHANCED FESTOOL MANUALS", click on "DOMINO". It's a .pdf.

I just bought a few weeks ago the Domino & it came with guide for narrow pieces. Do these spacers take the place of this guide.

Yes, but that's not why I made the spacers. I assume you are referring to the "Trim Stop". I mention that accessory in the paper. It is used to hold a narrow board in place while cutting a mortise. I have the trim stop, but never use it. It's a lot faster to use a spacer.

The main function of the spacers is to provide a reference for both boards being joined.

Clever idea Cary!

Here's another solution that doesn't take any time, materials or money. It's something I posted on the Festool site as well as here about a year ago. It has served me well on narrow stock:

Had I seen that, Jeff, I might have stopped there. Good idea.

Note that you might be able to use my tables with your magnets.
