I was yard saling yesterday and ran across a Stanley 45 in good condition with a bunch of irons in the original iron box with the label. It didn't have the box for the whole plane, but everything looked good. The only problem is there are no directions with it. Does anyone out there have a set of directions they would be willing to copy and send? Also I was interested to find out what the going price would be for the plane. I did buy it, but I wanted to know if I over spent or not. Thanks for any help

I was interested to find out what the going price would be for the plane.

This depends on a lot of things from type to condition.

A picture of what you have would be of some help.

Another way to find price information is to do an advanced search on eBay for completed listings.

My experience is the Stanley 45 with blades can go anywhere from $50 and up. I have bought a few without blades for $20 or less.

would be more like $120 - $150. It seems to be the irons that run away and hide, and the plane's not much good without them.

last one I bought was $50 from an auction, had the original wooden box and all the parts except the screwdriver, I have 4 or 5 that I use regularly, sometimes all at once, with a different blade in each one. Oldest one I have is a type 2, gave $20 for it with no blades.
