A question of sequence/procedure: I'm building mission style chairs and there are varying sizes of mortises on the legs. I would like to do all of the mortises on the legs first, then do the tenons on the cross members. Will that throw me off for the proper fit? Or do I need to do the mortise, then the appropriate tenon before moving on to the next one of a differing size? Thanks as always!!

Do ALL of one size first, to avoid having to redo the setups. You will already have everything dialed in properly.

But you can do all the mortises before doing the tenons.

Yes, but do not switch sizes or change anything that that will require you to change the forward to back setting on the top, this is only critical if you are doing a the two joining boards have a flush side
