My Grandfather was the reason I first got into woodworking. He lit the initial flame that eventually burned brightly and got me fully into the hobby. However, the two of us also shared a love for the sport of local dirt track stock car racing. He began taking me to the local tracks back in the early sixties when I was five years old.
I have been a racing journalist in one form or another for over thirty years now and currently, I am doing an internet blog for the racing paper that I once wrote for and the most recent effort concerned my memories of my Grandfather. I thought some of you may enjoy taking a look if you have a few minutes.
