This marvelous piece has been turned by Pierre Dupond, an amateur who has been taught by Jean François Escoulen.

He named this piece "pas de deux" as he wanted to represent a dancing couple.
The spheres are hollow and communicating.

In addition, I think Pierre has really been taking advantage of the veneer of the wood. Looking at the large image, you will see that one could imagine that the couple is kissing.

Presented at a wood turners gathering, this piece won the first prise.
Congratulation to Pierre

Pierre should be commended and congratulated. This is a wonderful piece of work. Not only is it an amazingly stylized vision of dancers, in which he successfully depicts the delicacy of their movement, the fit and finish of the elements appear to be right on.
