Let's not forget the true reason for this 3 day weekend. We get so tied up in our personal lives and forget why we have the freedoms that we have and why we can do the things we are able to do in freedom.

Please take a moment to remember our service men and women, past and present, for their sacrifice in helping to make this weekend possible and hang the flag in support! If you see a veteran this weekend, thank them for their support of this great country.

Especially those who gave all so the many could enjoy the fruit of their labors and those who came back, scared, missing parts and pieces and sometimes minds. Such a sacrifice should not be forgotten.

And to those of you who are vets, remember you can salute the flag in civilian clothes now legally. I always did anyway.

THANK YOU VETERANS FOR YOUR SACRIFICE, SO I MAY BE A FREE MAN IN THE LAND OF THE FREE.

Thanks Greg for thinking of us. Harry; after 27 years of service I always salute the flag no mater what I am wearing.

Thanks to all who have served and all who gave the ultimate sacrifice for the freedoms we enjoy.

I'm one of those Vietnam Era vets. Never made it to 'Nam but I was spit on and called a baby killer while traveling in uniform through Union Station in Chicago in the late '60s. A couple of my childhood friends went and didn't return alive. 20 years later with our oldest son in Saudi Arabia during Desert Shield I watched my shy little wife standup in front of a crowd of 60-80 people and more importantly US Senator's Larry Craig and Steve Symms who had called the meeting for families of military personnel ....."You aren't going to do what you did to our brothers and husbands.....Let our sons and daughters fight to win or bring them home now." she stated. As I proudly watched her, I cried.

My personal thanks to all who have served. We are forever indebted to you.

Thanks Ray. I have my own list which I posted here several years ago, also of my fellow Marines. Each January on my way to Colonial Williamsburg I swear that I will stop and see The Wall. 39 years after coming home and I don't know how many years after the wall's completion, I still can't bring myself to do it. May our friends live forever in our memories. Semper Fidelis
