Thanks, I needed a good laugh this morning.
I don't know which is worse; pot holes or speed bumps. Shops that do front end alignment must be in collusion with the highway department.

That's a remarkably good idea...at least for drivers who actually LOOK at the road ahead! LOL

I would like to be the guy that dodges the "pothole" and has a wreck. I could use the money! :D

Wiley Coyote and the Roadrunner had that idea first with portable holes. :D

Based on the printing on the road, it appears that some commercial company put the fake holes down, along with the printing on the road.

I agree with Robert - if someone has a wreck trying to dodge the fake holes, that company will have a well justified lawsuit against them.

Thats not the first time pavement markings have been used ..... they have used them in Germany for years to regulate speed (without speed limits)

Based on a field trip to Germany by the FHWA (http://international.fhwa.dot.gov/pdfs/innovtce.pdf) in 1999, its now being tried in Wisconsin (http://www.aaafoundation.org/pdf/chevrons.pdf)

I wish we had turn lane markers like that here, then the bone heads who cut in front of me will stop giving me the finger when I honk at them…..no excuse that they didn’t know it was a turn lane.

Jude

its not just to mark the turn lane, its has another purpose

The Germans discovered that the white chevrons create the optical illusion of driving fast, when you are actually driving slow. They had an autobahn split that drivers were taking at 70 mph, after they painted the road, people drove 45, but it felt like 70. :)
