I have a chance to get a almost new used about 1 hour 10" left tilt 3 hp with 52" Biesemeyer fence & Biesemeyer after market splitter. The price is 1550.00. Is that a good deal. Canadian made.

That's about 1/2 of new, which is generally considered a good deal. The splitter wasn't stock, but the fence was. If I were in the market, I'd buy it for that if it was in great shape (like you say).

It sounds like a good deal, Jay; General makes good machines although the designs have been the same for ages (not necessarily a bad thing).

If you can take it for a road test before buying you'd have a better idea if you'll like it.

I've been looking at table saws, especially the General, and I'd say that's an excellent deal from what you describe. One small aside: if you are planning using the new riving knife, that would be an $800 upgrade, just to let you know.

That is a great deal and I would jump on it -- especially if it is a 350 or 650. Excellent saw!

If its a Canadian General, go get it. I've got that setup in my shop. Great saw.

If it is a 650 (Canadian made) then I'll be the first to say - YOU SUCK! :)

That is $1000 less than what the new price is. If it is the import saw then you are paying roughly retail.

Whats the difference between the 350 & 650

Both are Canadian made. The only difference is 350 = right tilt and 650 = left tilt. I have a 650. It is a great saw!

For $1500 you have a very sweet deal!

And I have the 350 and it too is a great saw -- jump on it for that price.

I have a 650 and really like it. That price is very reasonable. They are a lot more now than when I bought mine for $1600, 3 1/2 years ago. I'd buy another one in a heartbeat.
