Laser Etching ABS Plastic with a Rabbit

I was curious if anyone has any experience etching ABS plastic with a Rabbit laser in particular, but any ABS etching feedback would be appreciated.

Also, does all ABS etch the same? I've heard of failure and success, but not many details about why it did or didn't work.

No rabbit here, but I have etched it. The result is rather muddy, or textured on the bottom, more so than wood. Also harder to cut, I have done up to 1/4", smelly and two or more passes. White does better than black for some reason.
