Photographing Glossy Work

In Steve Schlumpf's HF thread he said he had a hard time photographing the really glossy piece he made. Instead of adding on to his thread I thought I'd post this separately so more people might see it.

There is an article by John Lucas entitled "How to photograph really glossy woodturning" that, as the title suggests, talks about lighting and photographing really glossy pieces.
