Before I go to a geeks forum where I'm sure to get pointed to some expensive and complicated pro software, I'm wondering if anyone's using a simple to use editor for general purpose/semi-pro videos. I'm hoping to pop a few short demos into my website.

I've fiddled with MS Moviemaker... Are there any other - pretty simple to use - editors out there that have a short learning curve? I'd just as soon learn and then stick with one that I can rely on.

I don't video, so I can't be sure, but I think Roxio Easy Media Creator has video editing. I use it for buring CDs/DVds. Adobe Premiere Elements (Elements Premiere?) is sort of a stripped down version of it's "grown up" video software, but might still be a little pricey with the Adobe name on it. It is to Premiere as Photoshop Elements is to Photoshop. Good luck. DB

Adobe Premier Elements 4.0, either by itself of purchased bundled with Photoshop Elements 6 is an excellent choice. Easy to use and has many of the features and capabilities of their high-end Premier. I've found this program to be easy to get going with, too...

Ulead is ithe best I have used. I have no reason to look for another program. It is pricey but it is very easy to use and reliable. I have had other programs that dropped frames and wouldn't work on some stuff. It has taken everything I have thrown at it.

Another vote for Sony Vegas, plus there are a lot of tutorials on youtube to help.

I'm a very big fan of Sony Movie Studio. If you're looking for something free
VirtualDub is my second choice. http://www.virtualdub.org
