I thought I saw a thread here a ways back on installing this type of flip up bench stop, but I cant locate it

Anybody recall the thread? As an afterthought i bought 3 of these to mount on my bench. There's no instructions which isnt a big deal but I'm curious whether I should hunt for an exact sized bit for the round middle portion. It's tapered but the wide part at the top seems to be an odd size. I'm going to check tomorrow with digital calipers but the analog one puts this around 23/32" (haven't checked metric yet though). I assumed this would want a standard 3/4" round dog hole opening. The square mortised in portion would hold it snug, but it seems like I'd want the post hole snug at the top of the taper too??
