Someone asked me if I could make a few plaques for the local school baseball program, and I've hit a snag. They were looking for two crossed bats with a ball in the top of the 'X' (think skull and crossbones) and the nameplate at the bottom. Sounds simple enough but I'm having trouble figuring out how to cross the bats. The two bats are actually one turned bat split the long way and laid flat on the plaque. Any ideas on how to join these two bats together so they fit tightly?

Glue 1/2 of bat to sacraficial wood strip with paper seporator than drill bat at point of connection with bit the size of bat at intersection. if the sacrificial wood is more than thickness of bat it will not seporate handle to head then just seporate at the paper joint sand and install to plack
