I have a question on the Brass plates from JDS. I have finished one of the plaques and want to mount it to the Wood with the tape I also bought from JDS. The question is how much tape to put one it? Is there a patten that works better then others? The plate size is 8.5 x 11.
Thanks

Stanley,
The tape is cheap enough that I probably overdo it but I'd rather put too much than too little. I usually put a strip across the top, bottom and middle of the plate. If there is more than a couple inches gap between the strips in that pattern then I'd add as necessary to keep it around two inches. Nothing scientific about my method, but it has worked fine so far.

If I had thousands of plates to do then I might rethink my method, but plates are not a major part of my business.

Stanley,

The answer to the question, partly depends on the width of the tape you're using.

For that size plate, I'd use three strips of 1" wide tape (JDS Gold Line). One on each side, (along the long side of the plate) and one in the center.
