Greetings to all,
I found a decent Stanley 112 Scraper Plane at an antique mall a couple of weeks ago and I'm glad I did. I can remember how impressed I was with my first #80 (versus card scrapers) but the #112 is an order of magnitude better yet. A new Hock blade was required as the plane didn't have the original. It peels fine curlies off hard maple like it was scraping wax.
For those who like scraping and haven't tried a #112, do so if you can. Just remember to bring your checkbook.:D
