Photographs on Glass Mirrors vs. Acrylic

I know there have been some discussions on here about finding the right mirrors to be able to engrave on. We have found that they are now producing mirrors with a gold looking backs, I think they are referred to as copper backing. Well, we have to slow our machine (60 watt) down to a crawl to be able to go through these, so we are looking at the acrylic mirrors. Does anyone have any information, advise or opinions on doing photographs on acrylic mirrors vs. on glass mirrors.
