Before making new under-bench cabinets (I really need to re-do my shop storage) I though I'd look at some of the factory made units out there.

I'm looking for the garage/workbench style that are made the way metal file cabinets used to be made, with a finished height at about workbench height, 34" to 35". Fiberboard/OSB is out of the question.

Anyone using any of these?

"... Fiberboard/OSB is out of the question..."

The two are pretty much "mutually exclusive".....

I saw some advertised somewhere. May have been in the Grizzly catalog.

Mitchell,

Just a thought, I have done this.

Bolt 2 of these together and throw

your own top on it.

Well...if I were going to buy any cabinet carcasses...I'd head right to Ikea. Good product at a fair price. They build square and feature adjustable feet for convenience in leveling. Standard Euro boring, etc.

I know more than one person who has used cabinets from the bargain barns. Either the full store of bargains and one off's or extras from local yards.

Sometimes you can get great deals. They aren't steel quality but they work.

My suggestion is to build your own anyway. No need to be pretty, just build it from 3/4 birch ply with a face frame of whatever you have handy.

Better yet is to find some old boxes being tossed out and rehab them.
