Anyone have good plans or ideas for a big guy picnic table? The table I have is shot and was way small. I want to make a nice big one that seats big guys. Anyone have pictures or plans for one?

Mike,

I don't have plans or pictures, but what comes to mind is a table with separate benches that can be positioned accordingly to "our" bellies. If my inseam keeps dropping accordingly to my waist raising, I'll be making one myself:eek:

Seperate benches is a good idea!!

I am also going to do something else. I am going to make mine work with pallet forks. I keep them on the tractor loader about 80% of the time now and I like to also use my table for a shooting bench. It would make it very easy to move the table to my "range" (we shoot in the burm that is part of my pond) and to move it around when mowing.

Maybe I should just make a couple shooting benches.

Mike... here is a link to the table I just built. It is the table on the cover of "The best of Wood Magazine Book 3" Hope this helps. Its a great table for comfort for a larger person.

Here is the book cover so you can buy it or check your library. I widened the top, adding a 6th board, to make the top 36" wide, and that made the tressel ends need a center board. The benches are built to the plan. This thing is SOLID. I could park my truck on it. If you have any questions, or would like scans of the plans, you know where I hang out. (here:))

Mike... total cost with treated lumber and "no rust" deck screws... $100
