Hartville tool has the #5 plane on a deal for $18.90. May not be the best plane around, I have no idea, but the rose wood handles is worth the price.

I bought the #4 a while back for $14.99 just to get the handles. But after receiving it the sole was perfectly flat and the sides were square. So, I left it intact and it is a great user with a replacement blade.

OK it's no Lee Valley but for $18 it is a great deal. I think it is much better that one would think. I placed my order late Thursday and it was on my door step Monday by noon. Thumbs up to Hartville tool.
