As previously gloated, I am the new owner of a 1980 or so Griggio Horizontal Slot Mortiser. I have no instruction manual with this, and no experience. So, I took up to the new shop my set of Allen wrenches, only to discover that to remove the end mill, I need a square drive, which to my bad eyesight seemed to be a 7mm size.
I could sure use a contact, or manual, or adivce, on this guy, and any help would be appreciated. Google did not turn up much.
Thanks.
Alan

Alan,

I'm not sure if this is it but go to www.mcmaster.com (http://www.mcmaster.com) and do a search on 'Spline L-Keys and Drivers'.

If no, have fun searching here...they have EVERYTHING! :)

I could be wrong, but I think Laguna Tools sells the Griggio mortiser
which is an updated machine. They also sell other models, but may be
in a position to assist you. May not be for the exact machine you
have, but something similar.
Felder also sells these type machines. Good luck.

From a Google.com search, Kristech (http://mypage.uniserve.ca/~kristech/welcome.htm) seems to sell "new" Griggo...perhaps they can help you find manuals.

I emailed them, and they said no, but gave me the email of the factory, which I will use, but not till I have a serioal number. Don't want to try their patience.
Chris, I went to McMaster, but the only thing I found was a hek l-key, not any that were square.

Alan,

7 mm is darn close to 1/4" (0.2756" actually) and 6 mm is 0.2362". Would a 1/4" drive ratchet work? Maybe slip in some sliver of metal or wood if it is too loose?
