According to my translation, they're using "Felt (100% polyester)", but that had better be some thick felt to hold up like that. I imagine a felt covering on a thin metal backer would be better.

My translation is the same. It looks like they are getting about $15 for one set, pig, giraffe and reindeer. I opened the image and enhanced it, noticed what appears to be a slit cut into the rectangle piece, but I can't tell why.
