Here is a picture of a hall table I built for a client. The top is curly walnut veneer surrounded by maple and walnut. The legs are maple and have just a little curl.
The finish is three coats of witches brew and then waxed.
I wish I had taken the picture from the front, then grain on the apron looked nicer.

Thanks
Dave

Beautiful!! I am a big fan of walnut. Great contrast with the maple, and great compliment with a little curl in the legs. Very nice.

That is amazing walnut, can be a little cantankerous to work. Good job.

Did you bookmatch the top for the curly walnut? Amazing movement in it!!

However, I have to admit that I'm not crazy about the walnut apron...that is too much walnut in that piece for me. The top was plenty and the inlay very nice but I would have stopped there with the walnut.

Still a very nice, clean piece.

Interesting and very attractive blend of various grains and species with the top jumping out immediately to say "look at me first". :)

Excellent work and matching...

I tend to agree with Chris regarding the apron. But, that's just my opinion. Still a sweet looking table. Nice work!

Thanks for all the comments. The top was the focal point.
And I agree about the aprons, wish I could have used some maple with a little curl in it. But when I laid it out for the client, she chose the walnut for the aprons. Give the customer what they want. :D

Thanks again,
Dave

Is the walnut band around the top inlayed, or are they separate pieces glued together?
