Buckeye's that is... http://pic14.picturetrail.com/VOL561/3684635/7593283/277313326.jpg

A co-worker of my wife is moving south. So, Karen wanted to give her a good bye present that gave a reminder of Ohio. Thus the two pens.

She decided on the diamond wood version. That one is of course diamond wood top with a maple bottom dye scarlet. Black Ti Euro. I'm going to attempt to do another one just like it except I'm putting an OSU Buckeye emblem/decal. I think I might do a tutorial on it... the dye aspect?

Thanks Ken,

I would thinks so. It all depends on if they make diamond wood in the color combinations of a particular team. Then it would be just a matter of getting your dye mixed right... if you would need to do so. I did scarlet dye ... a little Cardinal Red with Black, because neither Paduak or Bloodwood matched the red in the diamond wood.

I considered making some ebony wash... just to grey it out... but decided the other route.

Sorry Bernie :(

But for say.... 200 dollars I'd consider doing one for you. ;)

And if anyone was wondering.... I'd lower my self for 1000 dollars if you wanted me to do one with Michigan.

That's a crying shame to waste that beautiful wood and craftsmanship with an OSU decal! With the red white and blue it would make a great Freedom Pen.

Nice work!

You are right that would be. The the blue ain't blue it is actually gray. I'll keep a look out for red, white and blue in diamond wood... that could make for a really neat freedom pen.

Looks good Jon!

Only 1000 bucks for a Michigan? You gotta be crazy! Atleast make it 5 grand!

Not sure where you get the dymond wood but may want to check www.hutproducts.com (http://www.hutproducts.com) One other thing wish you would have rolled the pen so the clip was not facing so much forward. Does not give a good look at the top blank. Just a thought.

I picked up the diamond wood up at Woodcrafter the other day. I'll be doing a few of those pens, I'll take some different angled pics when I do.

It's transfast aniline dye. I got the stuff I have now at the Hardwood Store in, Enon, Ohio. But you can get it at Rockler and Woodcrafters.
