View Full Version : Maple and turqoise salad Bowl

This is the bowl in question form the other post I made. it's 13"x5" came from across my road the electric co. is cut down alot of maple. I prolly have 4 cords allready cut up for burning next year but I saved some peices for turning.

It has walnut oil finish and I will put some walnut/wax on it later

Glad you saved this chunk of wood from the fireplace pile. Beautiful wood and the "save" seems to have worked well for you! Did you end up sanding the turquois dowwn or were you able to cut it with lathe tools? Pretty bowl...Bill...

Nice size bowl Bob! Love all the markings! Nice to access to that much wood and not have to haul very far! Looking forward to seeing some more of this stuff! Nice work!

Cool bowl, Bob! That's some real nice wood, a great, usable form, and the cool contrast with the turquoise. Good job.

Thanks for the kind words guys.

William I ended up using the carbide ring tool for most then the bowl gouge for final cuts.
