After reading plenty of reviews (I give a lot of weight to FWW Tool Guide as well) I finally had the funds to buy the Bosch 4212L. It's not a slide, but it can crosscut 8" which will be fine for me. It replaces my Craftsman that had about 6" crosscut, but could not be dialed in very well and had a lot of flex in its bevel settings. This Bosch seems very well designed, it was easy to tweak the factory settings to be dead on and it is smooth and solid. I also broke down and put a Forrest Chopmaster blade on it.

Is there any one who owns this saw that has purchased or made a zero clearance insert? I would like to know your source, or how you made it.

Here is the old one:

And the new beauty!

One feature I think will come in handy if I mount this on a bench is that all of the adjustments are done at the front (for bevel and mitre).
