Votive & Ring Holder

Just finished these as gifts. Ring holder is fashioned after Robert Rosand's ring holder tutorial. (http://www.rrosand.com/articles/15-3.html) It is ebony and some unknown wood sent by a friend from Zambia, finished with water-based gloss poly.

The votive glass is from CSUSA and is based on New Zealand Rimu wood, finished with Mylands Cellulose Sanding Sealer and Hut PPP. Rimu is a very hard wood that cuts nicely when dry. I find I really have to work at the sanding to get every last scratch out though.
