Sears has a 12" SCMS Model No.21206 on sale for $539.00 and Home Depot has a Rigid SCMS for $499.00 Model No. I do not know.
In your opinion which is the better saw ?

I don't know about the sears but I have the ridged and love it. It takes two people to carry it around but once you have it where you want it, its a great saw. hope this helped.
