Has anyone tried that Nova ornamental turning accessory yet? I was reading about it last night, and it looked interesting.

I thought of one myself, but with a price tag somewhere around $500 I soon forgot about it. Maybe one day.

Teknatool sold out of the first run, so yes people have. Reports on various forums have been uneven. Some were happy with thier new toy, some were knot.

I got one of the initial Ornamental turners and it had a problem. Teknatool replaced it and that one is great. My problem is that turning opportunities arose that have kept me so busy that all I can do is glance at the DVR with the mounted Ornamental turner every once in a while. Eventually I'll get back to it as it has a lot of promise for a lot of different work to come off it. My friend Gordon got one also and I think that he had some problems but I don't know if he has sent it back or not, I'll have to ask him Saturday. (Thompson Demo!)

Gary, I built my own ( see post from today) and I can say they are very intresting to use / build . The hard part is trying to find time to grind different tooling bits and time to use 'em. There are a couple of models out on the market like mine , one in Austrailia and one in the UK. I am in the process of building a different spindle head not unlike these models using the same materials I have for the one I built, btw all but the spindle it self were done using my jet 1236 turned into a mill using the Hardinge slide / tool post for the metal turning / boring part.
