Hello all, received a job to do some glass boxes, after I received them I saw that they were Lead Crystal 24%. After reading posts in the past about lasering leaded glass I became a little concerned.

Well, I'm one that will try anything once, twice if I like it. Well I happy to say I was pleasantly surprised with the results..... for those who what to know it can be done quite well, at least for this particular item.

The item was covered with wetted tissue paper and run with the following settings on a Universal 60W system, 90% power , 40% speed, PPI=1000 & ID=3. See the attached pictures.

You can do it it just is not recommended. I found out the hard way not to do thinner pieces that contain lead. The glass absorbed the heat and exploded. Was not fun and was costly. I don't see why the thicker leaded items couldn't handle the heat.
