I have an older Craftsman 18" bar chain saw. It runs good but with one problem. When hot, it won't idle down, it continues to run at full speed regardless of throttle setting.
What should I be looking for; broken spring or something like carbon on the piston?
Any help would be appreciated.

Gotta adjust or rebuild the Carb.

Also check for grease or dust build up in and along the linkage

Make sure tha carb and manifold bolts are tight, it might have an air leak when hot which will cause this. You can also spray a little wd40 or similar penetrating oil around the gaskets to check for a leak.
