This is a topic for our May club meeting & was wondering if anyone here
could share how they organize sandpaper in their shop, also
specific to the lathe, how do you use organization when you
are sanding at the lathe, do you just set them down on the head stock
& later fish thru the shavings to find them? Please post some
pics of your setup …

Not an answer to this question but an affirmation of its relevance!! I would very much welcome suggestions on organizing/storing/maintaining sandpaper as it would improve workflow around sanding and help streamline this vital and often time consuming step.

I put a post in that other thread about using Cashew nut cans to store my round disks. I also have a Sandpaper Tree that I copied from TTIT, in the Aussie turning forum. The tree is a piece of allthread bolted to the top of my rolling cart. The allthread has fingers made of tin, separated by pieces of tubing, along it's length, with a Cashew can on the top to hold my 0000 steel wool. I have 8 sets of fingers on it, to hold pieces of 8 different grits of paper. I'll post a pic if anyone's interested.
