You could always move back to Denver and either work for your present employer or somebody better...:D At least you'd get self-disappearing snow!

Joe,

I can see your grass! Man I wish I could see mine, well green anyway - the little bit poking out is all brown. It has been raining here in VT, so maybe this weekend the snow will all finally go away!

Jim,

Your grass looks green too, at least where the truck didn't peel the turf up anyway.

Still, Joe - looks like a good day to spend in the shop! Or near a woodstove at least!

I'll be thinking of you Julie, slaving away behind the mower as I shovel off the flower beds to make space for the dafodils to come up.

It's wierd to be shoveling snow in a t-shirt, but that's sprigtime in Vermont for ya!!!!!!!!!!

Jim, Joe, Kurt. Living in "Baja Canada" is a tough job, but somebody has to do it. We need people like you up there. After all, we can't have our Canadian friends annexing you all. Hang tough.... :D

I was weak, and after 38 years, I moved to Texas from northern Ohio, and never looked back. The best move I ever made. (Now don't get any ideas!)

Shhhhhhhh!!!!!! Don't let EVERYONE in on Colorado's Front Range little secret!

Do you realize that Colorado/Denver area gets more sunny days than many places in Florida?

You could have a blizzard on Saturday...all day...and Sunday it could shining brightly...all day...and it is slush city...only to freeze again Monday! :D

Ah...I miss Colorado....

We got about 3" of white stuff yesterday. Even had the snow plows running in our area. It's all but gone this morning.

Chris,

For Colorado, I think I'd pick Colorado Springs if I had my choice.

As far sa California goes - give me Tahoe! Still have winter there - Oh but what a nice place to "suffer". lol!

Ken,

Northern Ohio, huh? Were you far enough (close enough) to the lake for the belt of snow? My sister lives in Chagrin Falls and my cousin lives in Mentor. My sister gets all the snow, but man does my cousin get the cold, not as much snow, but the lake breeze is nasty come Jan & Feb.
I'll take our -20° over that bitter lake wind anyday.

Ken & Chris, Have a nice Sunny Day and keep spreading your sunshine here so we "Tundra" guys can enjoy it!

HI Kurt. I grew up and spent the first 38 years of my life in Akron, some 35 miles south of Cleveland. My wife grew up in the city of East Cleveland. I know the areas you speak of, my in laws lived in a small town just west of Mentor. Akron was not subject the the real lake effect snow storms that the cities just east of Cleveland experienced. Cleveland sets in a hole, and is surrounded by hills on the east side. The east side areas really take the brunt of the snows.

A little story about Mentor that I will never forget. One Sunday afternoon when visiting my in-laws, LOML and I decided to drive over to the Mentor Mall to look around. One of the intersections in route was a mild upgrade on to another state highway which had a strong crown to promote run off. We were at the light waiting for the light to change. In front of us was a pickup truck with a big old upright piano on board, and not tied down. The light changed, the truck started to make its left turn on to the crowned highway, and, you guessed it, the piano kept going straight when the truck turned. It was a site to behold. The piano took a rolling dive over the side of the truck and just collapsed into a pile of firewood. There just wasn't anything which resembled a piano left. I don't think Larry, Curly, and Moe could have staged a better scene. I laughed so hard I could hardly drive. It was truly a once in a lifetime experience. :D
