I just picked this machine up this morning, its a makita 2030 2 column planer joiner that needs quite a bit of tlc. Lotta rust on the tables, some damage to the pork chop guard. Motor and blades do spin nicely though. I know I have to take this one completely apart, but I'm having a bit of a time figuring out how to get the jointer off the planer body and then how to get the planer head up and off the posts so I can get to the feed rollers which I know will have to be recovered or replaced. Along those lines, I've heard of a company out in CA that will recover these rollers for about 100 bucks. If anybody has a lead on them or has this planer and can lend me some advice, I would be very grateful.

Along with the no pix, didnt happen, here are a few:

Hi Bob, that looks just like mine! I'm not sure how the parts are separated but I think you can find parts diagrams on the internet. If you are going to replace the rollers, the parts place might have a user guide also. I'll dig through my stuff and try and come up with one.

Have you ever had it apart? I can find some diagrams for the 2030N, but that is a 4 column model, this one is only 2 columns. Some things the same, some different.
