I just completed my first few pens and really enjoyed it. I would like to make a half dozen shop pencils, much like the kit at pennstate but don't know the drill bit size. Pennstate has not returned and answer to my question. So, has anyone made one of the shop pencils. Does'nt have to be from Pennstate?
Looks like larger bushing is required also. Any [pointers will be appreciated!)..Thanks...Bill...

Do you have a Craft Supply catalog? They have the kit in there. I'll have to change computers but I can check and let you know.

From the PSI Website - the instructions for the pencil. I made one recently and I like it a lot

Here is the link for all of their instructions -

I've made several of the artists pencils or sketch pencils-the ones that use the big lead and have a sharpener built in. Nice, big shop pencils and easy to turn.

Bill, now I'm at a different computer and have my CSUSA catalog open, I can answer your question.

CSUSA has two pencils that might fill your bill. One is an "Artist Sketch Pencil. Item #050-5007/8/9. It is $8.50, comes in 10K gold, black chrome, or chrome, takes a 15/32" drill bit.

The "Toolbox Pencil" is $7.99, takes an 11mm bit, item #050-5015. Both are on page 113 of my catalog (the Fall/Winer 2007-2008 25th anniversary catalog).

Hope this helps.
