Newbie question here...doing my first plaques and wondering what setting I should use to engrave the plaque plate. They are brass plated steel designer plates from JDS.... I have a 45 w helix. I wasn't sure when looking at my chart in my epilog book what was the best material choice for settings. Thank you all in advance.

It seems like we just had a post like this a couple of days ago.

This is one of the easiest materials to work with. Engrave at 100%P and maybe 70%S at 500dpi. If that doesn't remove all the lacquer it does no harm to run it again.

That'll help you find the right setting as one pass should be enough to do the job.

Tim,
don't you have a setting for painted brass?

Tim,

I also have a 45 watt Helix. I use 100 speed and 45 power with great results. If I have very fine detail in a graphic, I'll drop down to 35 Power.
