my guard was pretty battered up. the front was cracked the flap gone the holes cracked out from a few small kickbacks. I had removed it for awhile but I was getting tired of the dust flying around without a good dc on the hood.
so I draw up the parts and cut them on my cnc router. then glued them up and had a new replacement head that fit a 4" hose. I needed to add a bit more counterweight to the back but it is better balanced then the original one ever was.
I made it a bit longer and I had to notch the back to keep it from hitting the bar.
the bigger air holes seem to help the dust flying out the side.the guard weight's more then the original so I had to add ballast. but it actually is smoother then the original was. I think the extra weight helps with the hose.
