For a change the LOML let me know ahead of time that she needed a birthday gift. I had a couple of green Walnut blanks so I figured I would give the DNA a try. Roughed out a couple of potpourri and soaked them for about 36 hours then dryed for 6 weeks. One developed 2 very fine cracks and the other none. Both of them warped a lot. Was able to get them back to round and I think they look good. Mylands friction polish finish. Both are about 5 1/2 wide and almost 2 1/2 high.

Dennis - That's some very nice work, the pewter tops go well with the walnut wood, your wife is just going to love receiving them.

I hope to do something different with pewter myself shortly which I saw being demonstrated by a professional woodturner at our club recently!!!!!?
