Bandsaw Question

Hello,

I brought home my Dad's old 12" Crapsman band saw Saturday. I went to Woodcraft and bought a new 1/2" blade, and put it on. After I run the saw for a minute or two, the blade and tire are sliding off towards the rear of the wheel. What is wrong? What do I need to do to fix this?

Hi Daniel, assuming you've got proper alignment and tension, when I had that problem on my 2 year old Griz a new tire fixed the problem.

Poly tires don't require crowning (which you will need to do with the tire on the saw) rubber tires will need crowning. (Google will be your friend on this subject.)

Have you adjusted the tilt of the upper wheel? Sometimes a little change there can get it tracking where you want it.
