Sycamore box I completed about a year ago, its a copy somewhat of a Chris Stott oriental design,size is about 3"x3".

Really nice. I like the light wood. I guess sycamore is well suited for turning. Also, nice finish you have on there.

Nice! Definately oriental in form! I like the color of the wood, the finish and the detail work inside the lid.

That is a beautiful box. Really a nice shape. I love sycamore. I've neve seen it so whiteish. Did you do something to it to bleach it or lighten the color?

Paul the colour of our Sycamore can vary quite a bit, but is nearly always pale looking especially if its cut down and cut into spindles or bowl blanks straight away then sealed with PVA or Wax, so the answer to your question no nothing was done to the wood, except cellulose sanding sealer and carnauba wax finish.

David you can see why I asked, this is a little Sycamore bowl I turned some time ago, much "pinker" than yours.
