Cork bottle stopper tutorial?

I have a bunch of corks and dowels and need to turn out a half dozen stoppers for gifts this weekend. I tried one but the dowel broke off in my chuck. does anyone know of a tutorial to turn these? Any help is appreciated.

I tried doing this and the same thing happened to me. I have not gone back and tried it again but the only flaw I can figure out is that I used a cheap dowel from the local hardware store. I was thinking of picking up a good hardwood dowel from rockler and trying it again. What kind of dowel did you use?
