Would appreciate some help on setting up a Vix bit. I cannot figure out how to set it up so the bit will move within the guide. Looks to me like the small setscrew should have something to do with it, but no luck so far. Thanks.

Didn't know you had to set them up. The setscrew is there to retain the drill bit inside the Vix housing and perhaps adjust the drill depth (?). If the nose piece can be pushed back up inside the housing to expose the business end of the bit (may take a little effort), I think you're good to go.

Yep. The set screw simply holds the drill bit and the only time you need it is to change bits. http://www.normstools.com/images/normstools/vix-bit.htm

Sounds like your nose piece is stuck(?). Can you push the nose back and expose the bit? If so, you're good to go.

Chuck it up and take a piece of scrap, secure it down good. Now drill and press down. If the bit doesn't come through it is stuck... see above post.
