Do any of the American style cabinet saws have a brake? I saw a felder slider this weekend that had one and thought it was a great safety feature. Does SawStop use a break when the motor is shut off? I'm still debating on a small slider or a cabinet saw.

Thanks, Dan

My Craftsman radial arm saw has one but it is 20+ years old.

Pretty much any Euro saw will have a motor break due to safety requirements "over there". My Minimax S315WS has one and spins down pretty quickly. None of the American style cabinet saws or contractors' style saws that I have used have ever had that feature.

If you have a 3-phase saw then you can put a brake on it ,they put one on the dewalt at work and it stops it in 3 sec.
