Does anyone have a good source of copper or brass powders for inlay work? All I seem to find on my web searches is powder that is copper or brass color and not the real stuff.

Doug,

I've used this stuff for inlaying into wood and it works fine: http://tinyurl.com/5uo7hd

Doug, I have had good results with brass from my local hardware giving me the brass shavings where they cut keys. I use a magnet to remove steel from them and then sift them to remove spirals and unwanted elements before use.

The price is high for what you get, i make my own furrels out of Brass pipe fitting nuts, and run a file over them to get them into the round, save the gindings also grind the odd one or 2 down and bottle for use, same with copper pipe stick it on the lathe and file down, lot cheaper to find old bits of pipe and nuts and you don't use big lots...
