I have a 12x12 utility room a 6x10 and 8x12 bathroom to tile (floor) and three rooms 15x25 each to hang a suspended ceiling from.

What's the best laser out there that will speed the process of getting everything straight and level? I'm sure this will not be the last time I do either, but I don't do this frequently so don't want to spend too much on this toy...tool. I've checked out what Home Depot, Lowes, and even Sears has to offer. There's a WIDE selection which is dizzying to sort through.

So what say ye' the collective intelligence and wisdom of SMC?

Be well,

Doc

Mods...this is kinda about a power tool...if you don't think so, please move to OT.

Don -

Your going to spend at least $750 on a good self leveling lazer. You can buy cheaper but you get what you pay for.

If you are going to use it alot spend the money, if not rent one for a day.

Check out PLS-specifically their PLS 180. That might be just the gem you are looking for, puts out a nice plumb and level line. They have a bunch of other lasers that are much better quality than what you will find at the box stores.

We have several Hilti self leveling rotary lasers at work, but they are unfortunately tied up in a major renovation project. $750 is way beyond what I plan on spending, more like $200. None of the local rental places around here have lasers.

I have one and love it...unfortunately, it doesn't work for laying floor tile.

I'll have to look closer at them. A cursory glance and it seems to be close to what I'm looking for.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the feedback.
